What does Trinity offer?
Trinity College Bristol is a lively Christian college with students from different denominations and countries. We offer full- and part-time courses (certificates, diplomas and degrees, postgraduate taught and research programmes) in Bible and theology for those preparing for Christian mission and ministry, including ordination in the Church of England, alongside opportunities for practical ministry in a variety of contexts. The college runs evening classes and has a unique open learning programme using small local groups. It is an affiliated college of the University of Bristol.
Here is a summary of what we offer:
- A community of Christians of varied ages, church backgrounds, countries and experience, learning to study, worship and grow in our faith together. We are committed to biblical authority, evangelism and mission, participation in the worldwide church, pioneering and Spirit-led ministries, justice and the care of creation. See a statement of our values.
- A variety of full- or part-time courses, including a certificate in theology, undergraduate theology degree and postgraduate research programmes, validated by Bristol University. (After September 2014 the non-research degrees will be validated by the University of Durham.)
- A chance to learn from well-known and experienced teachers with expertise in the Bible and in mission and ministry, combined with practical Christian experience.
- Many opportunities for mission (in Britain and abroad) and for practical community and church (Anglican and non-Anglican) involvement, balancing academic studies and practical experience.
- Teaching in the Christian faith that is rooted in the evangelical tradition. (Trinity is affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance).
- An ecumenical perspective: although Trinity is an Anglican foundation, we welcome students from other churches and are in partnership with Bristol Baptist College.
- Training for ordained ministry in the Church of England or other parts of the Anglican communion.
- Preparation for ministry in other denominations, for teaching religious education, or just for engagement with the wider world.
- A unique choice of ministry training in college or in 'context' in a Bristol or rural community (what's the difference between these two tracks?).
- A variety of accommodation for families, singles and weekly commuters.
- An Ofsted-registered Day Nursery for student families and also open to the local community.
- The opportunity for world church leaders to share and learn with us through our Centre for World Christianity, Henry Martyn House
- Special student scholarships for British-resident students under 30 wanting to take a full-time one-year foundation course in Christian theology or aspects of Christian ministry.
- Learning support
- Licence from UK Border Agency as a sponsor for international students.
- Open learning self-study courses supported by local tutors in small study groups.
- An attractive 9-acre campus near the famous Suspension Bridge and Downs in the vibrant city of Bristol.
- Venue hire: our buildings are available to hire for small conferences and meetings in term-time and at weekends, and for larger conferences out of term.
