Partnership: Bristol Baptist College and
Bristol Federation for Theological Education

Trinity College is in partnership with Bristol Baptist College. We share all our teaching and teaching staff (faculty).

The two theological colleges in Bristol, Trinity College and Bristol Baptist College, together with the West of England Ministerial Training Course (WEMTC), form the Bristol Federation for Theological Education. (Wesley Colege, the Methodist training college, which used to be part of the Federation, closed last year.) Each of these has its own distinct character, stemming from its history and theological and denominational emphases.

The Federation aims to be an expression of Christian unity in the field of Christian ministerial formation and theological education. The three institutions train men and women for ordained ministry within the Anglican and Baptist churches in Britain and offer training for a wide range of other Christian ministry and mission opportunities. They are committed to a rolling programme of increasing co-operation in both teaching and common life. Each institution continues to have its own autonomy, tradition, ethos and identity while seeking to learn from and be enriched by each other's distinctiveness and spirituality.

Federation partners share a common Christian calling, expressed in their:

  • commitment to the Trinitarian faith of the universal church
  • willing response to the call of God to make Christ known in the world
  • concern to serve the needs of the church
  • openness to the adventure of following Christ in the work of the kingdom of God.

Full information on the Federation partners is available on their own websites; follow the links on the right.
