Chinese New Year was the theme of an international party at Trinity organised by Yongbom Lee, a student from Korea and a member of the Student Executive Committee. The ‘Year of the Tiger' officially began on 14 February, though the Trinity party was a few days earlier.

After supper, with a good selection of international food, guests tried their hand, or rather feet, at the Korean game jiegi-chagi (photo below) and later played the less energetic Korean board game yutnori.

Revd Gilbert Wong, pastor of the Chinese Church in Bristol and a Trinity graduate, spoke about traditional Chinese new year celebrations, and Paulson, a student from south India, spoke briefly about Hindu celebrations in his area.

Trinity welcomes international students, who contribute a great deal to our community life. This year we have full-time students from Canada, Egypt, Kenya, India, Poland, South Korea, the Solomon Islands, and the USA, with other part-time students scattered around the world.
