Growing the next generation: Trinity community looks at ministry with children and young people

12 January 2010
This week all the full-time students in Trinity are joining in a Community Week on Ministry with Children and Young People, thinking about young people inside and outside the church: what their values are, how we can present the Christian message to them and how we can encourage those in the church. There are talks and a choice of seminars. 'Superb' was the comment of one student after the first morning.
The main speakers are
Mark Griffiths, a curate in tne Oxford Diocese, who leads Children's MInistry with New Wine. He has done post-doctoral studies on children's evangelism and church growth and is author of One Generation from Extinction: how the church connects with the unchurched child (Oxford: Monarch, 2009).
Bob Mayo, Vicar of St Stephens, Shepherds Bush, London whose post-doctoral research is on the faith and worldview of Generation Y.
Sylvia Collins-Mayo, Principal Lecturer in Sociology at Kingston University, whose post-doctoral research is on youth religion and spirituality of non-churched young people. She and Bob are co-authors of The Faith of Generation Y (London: Church House, 2010)
