David Hart has served as an ordained Methodist presbyter since 1986. He is currently the Superintendent of the Bristol and South Gloucestershire circuit and minister of Victoria Methodist Church in Bristol.
His research interests include the social and theological impact of the eighteenth-century evangelical revival and the development of the Methodism in the first half of the nineteenth century. David's particular interest as an Associate Faculty Member of Trinity College is in the exploration of the theology of church history and heritage and its relationship with contemporary models of mission.
He is the Conference Officer of the Wesley Historical Society, and is currently preparing the society's next triennial conference in June 2014 on the theme of Methodists and Conflict. David is a member of the committee of the Ecclesiastical History Society, and is currently engaged in writing on development of British Methodism in the 1790s.
