Latest opportunity for practical training
28 May 2009
We are glad to announce that from September 2009 there will be a new opportunity for non-Anglican as well as Anglican students at Trinity to be involved in church- and community-based training. This is part of our context-based training programme in which students train as a group, based in a community and its church or churches in or near Bristol.
Two lively neighbouring churches, one independent and one Anglican, are forming an exciting partnership to provide a base for a group of up to 10 students - both Anglican ordinands and those studying and training for other ministries. There will be opportunities for becoming fully immersed in the worshipping lives of the churches, and a major focus and emphasis will be on mission opportunities in the local community.
The churches are Woodlands Church (independent) and St Matthew and St Nathanael Church (Anglican). The students will be supervised by leaders from both the churches, which are about a mile apart in a diverse and busy area of central Bristol.
This will be a chance for students to come and be a part of shaping something new. The Trinity group will be involved in a variety of ministries, such as work with young people and families and with those in recovery, pioneering new Sunday services, social action in the area, Christian basics courses, pub ministry, prayer ministry.
If you are interested in coming to Trinity and being part of this community-based training, or in one of our other ‘contexts', please contact us.
