This week we welcomed to Trinity the missiologist Dr Lalsangkima Pachuau, Associate Professor of the History and Theology of Mission and Director of Postgraduate Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary, Kentucky.

While at Trinity he is sharing with us his mission experience at a number of events, including a round-table discussion on world mission, Gospel in Action and our part-time evening course; he is also meeting our faculty and postgraduate students. He comes from Mizoram in north-east India and is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church of India.

Dr Pachuau is convener of a study commission for the centennial Edinburgh 2010 World Missionary Conference that meets in June. His sabbatical from Asbury has included three months with the Church Mission Society's Crowther Centre for Mission Education, as Missiologist-in-Residence.

He is staying in Henry Martyn House, our residential Centre for World Christianity which we are developing as a centre to which mission speciaists, theoogians and church leaders can come to share with us their experience and expertise.

Mission is an important part of Trinity's life. Students are involved in practical mission as part of their course, and often take initiatives themselves, such as the outreach near the cathedral in central Bistol.  Mission and Evangelism is one of the four strands of our teaching. A level.
