New context planned for 2012-13: Bishopston
From the academic year 2012-13 we will be offering the chance to get involved in a new project. The college started its involvement in the parish in 2011-12; the context will be launched next year. The supervisor is the priest-in-charge, Revd James Stevenson, a former Trinity student, and the tutor overseeing it is Revd Dr Ron Jackson.
Area: St Michael's Church (part of the parish of Bishopston and St Andrew's) is on the Gloucester Road, a major route into the centre of Bristol with a thriving community of independent retailers and businesses and a cosmopolitan population.
Proposed activities:
- Developing the parish strategy of making disciples in north Bristol and planting new congregations
- Growing a late afternoon Sunday service by targetting anyone who isn't awake on a Sunday morning
- Work with families and children of all ages
- Opportunity for placement with the prison chaplaincy
