New Open Learning courses start

22 December 2011
Seven new Open Learning courses will be starting in the new year, in Aylesbury, Bedford, Hertfordshire and Georgetown (USA).
In Aylesbury, two groups will be meeting to study An Introduction to Christian Ethics. A group in Bedford will study The Letters of Paul. In Colney Heath (Herts) a course starts on Introduction to Church History and in Kimpton (Herts) the course on The Synoptic Gospels and Acts will be studied by two groups led by Gay Carpenter who, after being a student of the ICES courses (Open Learning's predecessor) is now a tutor. Our study group in Georgetown (USA) are planning to start the course on An Introduction to Christian Theology.
All these courses start in January 2011 and run until June. In Bristol a group will start on a 10-week pilot course on Genesis, finishing in April. We are hoping that other groups will follow.
Open Learning provides self-study courses with the added bonus of a local support group and a tutor. We are working to develop the range of courses as well as the number of tutor groups.
For more about the way Open Learning works and the courses on offer, see Open Learning.
If you are interested in joining one of the groups in January, or in joining another group in the future, a please contact David Ball, Head of Open Learning, letting him know where you live so that he can advise you. From time to time we hold taster sessions to introduce Open Learning.
