New partnership with Paideia
21 September 2009
We are pleased to announce our partnership with the Paideia Centre for Public Theology, a new academic Christian study centre in Ontario, Canada committed to relating the gospel to all areas of Christian life. As part of this, we welcome Revd Professor Craig Bartholomew as Senior Research Fellow and Associate Faculty member. He will continue to be based in Canada but will be involved in research supervision of Trinity students and will visit us for teaching.
Craig Bartholomew is an internationally known scholar who is currently H. Evan Runner Professor of Philosophy and Biblical Studies at Redeemer University College, Ancaster, Ontario. He was born in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa and studied theology in the University of South Africa and Oxford University. His Bristol University doctorate, supervised by Professor Gordon Wenham, looked at the interrelationship of philosophy, literary theory and Old Testament hermeneutics, focused exegetically on readings of Ecclesiastes. His master's studies concentrated on the composition of Deuteronomy.
He was ordained in the Church of England in South Africa in 1986.
One of the most significant projects from Paideia is the international Scripture and Hermeneutics Seminar which has published some of the most important scholarly contributions in that field in recent years.
