Lee Barnes, Curate of Malmesbury Abbey, writes: 'We at Malmesbury Abbey feel that the Open Learning course through Trinity College is a significant way for people to deepen their understanding of the Bible and, subsequently, be drawn closer to the Trinitarian God. This echoes our vision at the Abbey for our community to not only learn more about God but also live out the truth of that learning in their everyday lives. It is our hope that Open Learning will contribute to that vision.'

Open Learning provides self-study courses with a difference: you study at home using the course book, but also join a local group so that you have the support of others studying the same course, and of a local tutor.

There are 10 study units on offer, seven on biblical topics, plus introductions to Christian ethics, to Christian theology, and to church history. There is also an 8-week unit, Snapshots from the Life of Christ, which can serve as a 'taster' for the courses, or could be used as a Lent course.

Open Learning at Trinity has been developed in partnership with ICES (Interactive Christian Extension Studies).
