Open Learning tutors' social

Open Learning tutors' social December 2011

4 January 2012

Trinity College Open Learning team invited all the tutors in the Bristol area to the college for a Christmas social at the end of term to say thank you for all their hard work. All the tutors and group facilitators were given a Christmas present.

After canapés, mulled apple juice and mince pies, everyone was challenged by a Christmas quiz. (Here are some of the questions: check how well you know the story!)

1 Who was the Governor of Syria at the time of Jesus' birth?
2 How many times did angels appear in the Christmas story?
3 Who said: ‘For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations....'
4 How many women appear in the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1?

It was lovely to spend time together getting to know each other and useful for tutors to make contact with each other. The Open Learning team plans to have a similar social before Easter.

Open Learning provides self-study materials with a unique difference: each student belongs to a local group for study and support, led by a volunteer tutor. We are most grateful to tutors who give up their time in this way.
