Part-time ordination training
We offer part-time Church of England ordination training to all ordinands who have been accepted by their diocese for training and who are able to travel to Bristol.
You will study for a Diploma in Theology over three years. In the first two years the course is taught on Tuesday evenings in term-time (September to June, with breaks coinciding with school half terms) at Trinity College Bristol. There are also a seven-day summer school, a five-day Integrated Learning Week, five weekends and a practial placement in a nearby parish (not your own).
In the third year teaching continues on Tuesday evenings, with the addition of one six-day study unit and five weekends., and a short mission-focused placement.
You will study with those training to be Ordained Local Ministers in the Bristol Diocese, as well as with independent student who are working towards the part-time Certificate in Theology.
If you are training to be an Ordained Local Minister, you will have supervised opportunities to train within your home church, as well as a six-week placement elsewhere in your second year.
