Postgraduate taught programmes

We have taught programmes at Master's level.

The deadline for international applications for postgraduate taught programmes, for entry in September 2012, is 18 May 2012, and for UK MA applicants it is 31 May 2012.

Master's level

Trinity offers a wide range of courses at MA level (Level 4) designed to equip those in ministry and those preparing for ministry with advanced theological, biblical and missiological tools. The MA level can be achieved in its own right or provide the stepping stone for further postgraduate research, and can be studied full time over one year or part time over two to three years, residentially or non-residentially.

In order to complete the MA programme, students must complete taught units totalling 120 credits and a dissertation of 15,000 words (worth 60 credits). In the case of failing to achieve sufficiently well to progress to a dissertation, students may exit with a Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits satisfactorily completed) or a Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits satisfactorily completed).

The MA programme can be completed full time in 12 months or part time in three years.

All those who want to apply for a postgraduate programme need to have a good bachelors degree (2:1 Hons or above) in theology or a related field.

For international students whose native language is not English a minimum score of 7.0 in an International English Language Test Score (IELTS) test taken not more than two years prior to entry is required. Trinity College also offers extra English language and study skills support for international students.

Postgraduate Diploma level

The Postgraduate Diploma in Theology programme aims to develop the students' interest in and knowledge and understanding of Christian theology. Through a variety of options, students will be able to engage with biblical studies, ecclesiology, missiology and church history in some depth. Students will acquire critical interpretive and theological tools that build on the BA (Hons) in Theology programme. They will learn to develop insights that speak to contemporary issues.
