Trinity Principal George Kovoor has just returned from a visit to the Church of Nigeria, the largest church in the Anglican communion.
The visit was by invitation of the Most Revd Dr Ignatius Kattey JP, Archbishop of the Province of the Niger Delta (centre in the photo), one of the 11 provinces of the Church of Nigeria, which has 142 dioceses. George Kovoor (right in the photo) gave four Bible studies and a keynote address to the Synod of the Province.
During his visit he was appointed Canon Theologian of the Province of the Niger Delta. ‘It is a huge honour and a great opportunity to be involved in shaping the future of theological education in Nigeria', said George Kovoor.
He also visited Trinity Theological College, Umuahia, an Anglican college, where he addressed the college and faculty on the future of theological education. The principal, the Ven Geoffrey Molokwu, recently spent some time at Trinity as a World Church Fellow.
