Canon George Kovoor, Principal of Trinity College Bristol, is in Singapore and Malaysia in July and August, speaking at conferences and experiencing the work of the Anglican Church with which he has had connections for many years.

He was the main speaker at the Diocesan Prayer Conference, 'Touching Heaven, Changing Earth' (17-18 July) in All Saints' Church, Kuala Lumpur, organized by the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia. http://www.anglicanwestmalaysia.org.my/

He then went to Singapore for the South Asian Global Convention (22-26 July), an international gathering of South Asian youth and young adults. http://www.southasianconnection.com/pages/SAGC-2009-Singapore.html.

Afterwards he visited Sabah, Malaysia, where he spoke at ‘Ready for Action' (13-15 August), the conference of the Asian mission agency SOMA (Sharing Of Ministries Abroad). He also attended the consecration on 14 August of Archdeacon Melatair Tais as Assistant Bishop of Sabah; the Archdeacon studied at Crowther Hall, Birmingham when Canon Kovoor was Principal.  Watch a short video about SOMA and the conference.

To finish the tour, George Kovoor visited some of the work of the Diocese of Sabah in the interior of the island (the photo shows George Kovoor with the Bishop of Sabah, Datuk Albert Vun Cheong Fui, a long-standing friend).
