Revd Sonja Arnold BTh
Tutor in Context-based and Pioneer Training

Sonja Arnold joined us in April 2009 as Tutor in Context-based and Pioneer Training. Some of Trinity's students train specifically to work among groups of people who are not reached by the church. Sonja is helping us to develop training that is appropriate for them, and is also acting as tutor to one of the groups of students following our context-based training track.
Before ordination Sonja spent a number of years working among homeless people in central London and as manager of a night-shelter for young people. After training at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford Sonja spent eight years in a parish in Shepherds Bush, west London, as curate and then associate vicar. She then joined the leadership team of Crossnet, a pioneer church plant in Bristol. Sonja loves to see lives changed as people come to faith in Christ and it is her great desire that the gospel and Christian community should be made accessible to people from all walks of life.
Sonja has also been involved in short-term mission trips to several countries including, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Sudan and India. She hopes to develop this aspect of Trinity's mission by taking and sending students on such trips, encouraging them to learn from as well as develop a love for the world-wide church.
Sonja's appointment is 'faith based': she is responsible, with the help of the college, for raising her own salary.
