Theology graduates

Students who already have a BA (Hons) degree in theology undertake the Trinity College Advanced Diploma in Ministerial Theology. This programme enables students to fulfil the Ministry Division requirements for ordination and usually also provides students with the opportunity to complete further postgraduate study leading to an MA. This pathway has significant flexibility since its purpose is to:

  • relate previous studies to the new context of ministerial formation
  • round out previous theological studies in areas where there may be gapos for the purpose of ordination training
  • provide study at a level which is stimulating, challenging and relevant to ministerial formation and church leadership given your previous theological studies.

Some students may choose to pursue the MPhil programme of postgraduate research. However, admission to this is dependent on the agreement of the Ministry Division Further Degrees Panel, the Director of Postgraduate Studies of Trinity College and the University of Bristol Graduate Dean.
