Tutor contributes to C.S. Lewis Bible

A Trinity tutor was one of the contributors to the new C. S. Lewis Bible, published last week by HarperCollins.

Revd Dr Jeanette Sears was on the advisory board of Lewis scholars who helped to put together excerpts from C. S. Lewis' writings to be printed alongside the New Revised Standard Version text of the Bible. The C. S. Lewis Bible includes over 500 of Lewis' writings, intended to be used as devotional aids.

Jeanette Sears, who is Tutor in Doctrine at Trinity, is working on a systematic theology looking at the contribution to Christian doctrine, in their non-fiction and fiction writings, of the 'Seven' (C. S. Lewis, J.R. R. Tolkien, Dorothy L. Sayers, Charles Williams, G.K. Chesterton, George MacDonald and Owen Barfield). She is a member of the C. S. Lewis Society and this summer spent time as a Resident Scholar at The Kilns, Lewis' house in Oxford (in the photo above). In the spring she led the first-ever Narnia Weekend at Lee Abbey in Devon. When she lived in Oxford she used to lead walking tours based on the lives of C.S. Lewis and the Inklings and is author of a booklet The Oxford of J.R.R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis (2006).
